First Night Home

What a rough first night it was with Jackson. Scott got up with him at midnight, 2 am, and 3:30 am. I got up with him at 5:15, and just decided to stay up. He did not like sleeping in his kennel at all. Hopefully tonight will go better.

  1. Guess you could always try putting him in bed with you...bet he'd like that much better! Oh, and I was up with Alex at some of those same times!! Puppies really ARE like babies. Fortunately puppies grow up MUCH faster!!

  2. Welcome to puppy parenting!!! He is entitled....after all it was his first night away from mom and his sibs!! He will adjust quickly or at least most of them do. You might try a ticking clock in his bed, or a blanket that has your scent on it. Be sure he has something that he can nestle down into as they seem to like that. You can also try moving his kennel/bed right by the bed so that you can reach down and touch him (or almost do so) as they seem comforted by that.
